Due to a lack of interest, Season One has been closed off.  A series of exhibition games will be held in the coming months, followed by season two later in the year.

Event #3 attracted 8 players, and we welcomed 2 new players for the first time playing this year (Christoo and IceMan).

 

The game lasted 58 hands in total and it was a great competitive game.

 

The first big pot was on hand #5 with pooper taking a 2745 chip pot when his AT was better than Christoo's AK when the T fell on the river.

 

Here are the chip counts after the first 10 hands.  At this time 2 of our players had not arrived.  Pooper with the big hand was the current chip leader.

By hand #15 dazzla had arrived and started in typical madness taking a pot worth 3885 this time he had a hand with AK which paired on the flop.  Both Muzz and Christoo took hits for this.

 

Hand #19 saw massive action with IceMan taking a pot worth over 8000.

Hand #23 saw a double KO by pooper taking out both Christoo and Dazzla with a full house.

 

5 hands later on Hand #28 Muzz was gone and IceMan extended his lead with a flush.

 

3 hands later on Hand #31 Young_Caesar was elimated leaving just 4 players to fight on the bubble.

On Hand #40 the bubble burst and sLeek350z was elimated by Frost_Pirate

 

There were a further 18 hands in the tournament in which things were moving slowly.  Frost_Pirate decided to go for "poker suicide" and got lucky elimating our new comer IceMan.  Several hands later pooper was elimated in 2nd place.

 

Frost_Pirate wins Event #3 and is entered into the 2010 Tournament of Champions.

Event #2 attracted 8 players, and average turn out but much better than event #1.  Hopefully we can attract a second table of players for the next event.

A registration bonus of 500 chips was awarded to all registered players for this event.

Play was slow to start on the opening hands. But then this on hand 3.  Young_Caesar took an early lead and a pot worth 4595 when his AQ beat dazzla's K4 on a board of 9A3K5.  The blinds were only at 5/10 at the time.

Dazzla on his usual form was turning over rubbish that was beating others and managed to gain back much of his losses in the first 10 hands.

Hand #13 was another big hand, this time the 2275 pot was dragged down by spIIr0 when his 3 of a kind beat muzz's 2 pair.  spIIr0 let off a "hahahahahah woooooooooooooo" in the chat log revering some of earlier damage.

Hand #15 wipped away all the loses of Dazzla winning a 3795 pot when his Q9 beat pooper's KK on a board of 9A296.

Hand #20 saw the first all in with pooper in a 3 way pot and leaving in 8th place and cementing his place in the hall of shame.  Dazz took the pot of 10345 down rivering a straight and cracking Young_Caesar's AA

Dazzla was then able to push the table around with his massive stack and after 30 hands the stacks had not moved around much.  The chips counts were:

In a hand of much bad luck for spIIr0, Ace Ten was beaten by Dazzla's Ace Ten, after Dazzla was able to freeroll a flush on the river.

As there were 3 no - show the tournament was ended afterwards with dazzla taking first place and winning 3250 chips.

A great game played by all, see you all again for event #3 in two weeks time.

The 2010 series started off with a slow start seeing just 3 players go for leaderboard points.  In the end the results were:

Perhaps the Australia Day event was not such a good idea after all!  Heres to hoping that we get a bigger turnout for Event #2!
